they want to change our rules but not let us race in long beach this is B.S
When you joined APBA you were sent a rule book. The rule book clearly states the attire that must be worn by the driver. Nobody "changed" any rules, the rule was there before!! As far as Long Beach goes, we are still trying to work something out, but as of right now, the Nostalgia Classes are not invited, here is why. Anybody that has been to Long Beach can tell you pit space is at premium. Consider the regular pit area can only handle I believe about 90-95 boats, sounds like alot until you factor in that this event is now a world championship event for the Pro-Stocks, that means 20+ boats in that calls alone. Add in 20+ Cracker Boxes and almost 1/2 your pit space is taken up by only 2 classes!! Now factor in the time constraints, unlike Bakersfield and Parker where we have the water from dawn till dusk, we only have the water for for about 7 hours each day, not alot of time to get as many heats in that will be needed. Nostalgia Classes are NOT official APBA classes, they are strictly a SCSC local class, therefore we will be the first to get bumped if need be. Like it or not, thats the way it is, be thankful that SCSC even has the Nostalgia Classes at any event. The money rasied by putting on the Long Beach event helps to pay for the remaining events of the season that just break even if that. So be happy that the people paying to see the Long Beach race, and the people paying to race at Long Beach, are helping you out at the other races!!
