Ok ladies, since the other thread is now 4 pages long, here's a new post for this trip. I spoke with the BR Inn, we have 13 rooms available. Here's the list so far:

I'm going to call BR Inn today and give them the go ahead to block these rooms for us, YOU will need to call and reserve your room, I'll put them under group name So Cal Jet Boats

I will post up when it's all said & done on my end with the hotel.

When I went to the last Bluewater trip, there was a T intersection with a tall sign saying Big River. Is this the same way I want to go, (rice road), or is there a shorter way from the OC ???

Sounds like it! Big ass sign on the opposite side of the road from the T, storage units just as you come down that road, that's the place!

yup take rice road!! you'll see signs for big river about 10 mins before you cross the bridge into parker.. It will be on the right hand side.. cant miss it..

well guys this s a post that sucks to write. I just heard from the repair shop about my truck and now in addition to the $1200.00 tow bill the repair wiil be just over $ 3000.00 .so that coupled with a large tractor repair this summer and the fact that we have had almost no good weather to work this summer hence no harvest means we are not going to be able to come to BR. i was so looking forward to this trip but just not going to be able to swing it so . I f anybody was wanting to go but couldnt get a room I will call and cancel my reservation for room #20. this sucks :mad: :mad: :banghead:

Boating season runs all the way to October down here, keep that in mind. Sorry to hear about the string of bad luck. My uncle is a wheat farmer in Oregon and it is definately a boom/bust kinda lifestyle.

Are all the rooms booked? Do they allow dogs? Can I seek one in? My buddy has a place by there and we always hang out at the park next door. In fact I even have a parking pass but the problem is that he is gonna be in Argentina that weekend.

thought of nothing else all day . dont want to miss out you guys are too much fun. we picked up the truck and with the towing bill and repairs was just over $4200.00 so on the way home my wife says I think we should go anyways so.... Catfish Cantina had large stacks and huge cups, and the food was pretty good too........ ;D
But I'd be down for a BBQ deal. I didn't even pay attention if the grilles were still even there.....But I'd volunteer Chili again, unless Keith and Michelle are going to make it, theirs is awesome, and doesn't cause colon concerns the next day, in which case I'll whip up some Dead Dick's bean dip instead....or maybe both anyway for giggles.....

so as some of you know, i had to move recently on a real short notice. its still biting me in the ass financially. making this trip is looking very grim for me. I am still trying to get things settled here and will know for sure weather I can make it.
i have a room reserved. I want to throw it up for grabs and I will find a floor to crash on. Is anyone still looking for a room at the Big River Inn for this weekend? This would help cut some of the weekends costs down.
The other dilemma:
i got the parts to put the southwind back together and bring it, or i can bring the race boat. (its ready to roll)
if i bring the race boat, i gotta buy a barrel of go-juice for it. Here in town, I am looking at like 10/gal for 110oct...and then im limited to how far i can go as it only has a 7 gallon tank. I can carry or have someone carry some fuel jugs for me....but still, it will be a PITA.
the southwind burned up a bearing on the last trip out and it just needs to be assembled and drop the motor back in it...but i have had ZERO luck with that boat for some time now.
So which should i bring? bust my ass and bring the southwind just to probably take a shit on me again? or bring the faster boat and have some fun?
i know my instinct says dont go blow a shitload of money on gas for the race boat, but then the irresponsible side of me says i wanna do it anyways

Sell the room and put that money towards gas in 888. When you get home, take your time putting the Southwind back together instead of thrashing and fuking something up again. My .02

Is it complete with a BBC manifold and a couple underdrive pullies? My compression is a little high in the current motor ;)

LOL! No, no manifold. Its a pretty raw 6-71 takeoff I'm gonna fire up the Kira on and try my own hand at gasoline conversion and building with. The heads are aluminum 460's so won't do you any good either. But I DO have a set of blower pistons that should fit your engine nicely! :thumbup:
Besides, you put a blower on that thing, the peg-legged driver is gonna kick BOTH our asses.......... ;D

They're Edelbrock RPMS, Gord, and maybe. Not entirely convinced they're what I want to use just yet. Chris says they look good on his motor......whatever THAT means....... :banghead:

I just booked a room at the Budget Inn in parker. They are dog friendly and ny wife is pregnant so she can drive after a day on the river. Is everyone hanging out at the park next to the Big river inn? What time is everyone meeting up? I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and drinking some beers.

Getting there revisited. I saw a totem pole looking sign that said BR, while on Rice road. Some guys saying to turn just before the Parker bridge. Looking on mapquest for BRI the totem pole dohickey, turning there would be a hell of a lot shorter. Am i wrong ???

Once you go thru Vidal Jct it's going to be your first possible right turn, there is a BIG ass sign that says BIG RIVER just follow that road alllllllllllllll the way to the end Nancy Boy

We've found a few SST tunnels around, but until I get some cash for this one, no go. :banghead:
Not sure what we're bringing. We finished up the pump/header/carb/intake upgrades on the Charger (And MAN does it sound pissed off!) so I'm leaning towards that one. I guess friday afternoon we'll decide what we're hooking up to, either the Charger or Pickle.

I've been trying to figure out a way to snatch that blower on the way out and bolt it to the front of the merc.....still in the planning stages.

Me and the wife had an awsome time this weekend. it was our first but, I'm sorry we had to leave so quick without letting any of you guys know saturday, something came up with my parents and we had to go get the kids. It was nice to meet all you guys, including Brad the leader. Now I can put a face too who I'm talking too on the boards. You too Pat, and Gord. Thanks for introducing me to the guys. Can't wait for the next gathering. Isn't that at the AVI in oct.

thanks guys we had a blast. its sure lonely here tonight though we had the sandbar all to ourselves this afternoon and when we floated back down we only saw 2 boats in an hour.
