I'm not a big fan - just curious.
-
With no john Bonnam and no PLant it would be a Page show, I'd go if it was here at a good venue. I saw Zep on my 21st B-day, one of their last shows.

i dont think robert plant has it anymore...do some youtube searches and look at their later shows/appearances.....he just doesnt hit it like he used to....theres younger people that can impersonate him at his younger years and it would be a better show then washing some washed out hippy relive his youth.
and with bonnam...yes, he was a key figure to laying down some of the most off timmed drum tracks of the day that still make peoples heads spin.....but there plenty of drummers that can exceed his ability if he was still alive. dont get me wrong, he was one of the best drummers of his time.
as far as calling it led zep? i think thats just someone cashing in.....it should be called a tribute band of some sort.

I would rather go see a tribute band and get the full effect. unfortunatly :-\

I suppose it would be interesting to see Steven Tyler up front. Their already practicing.

Good point Terry . IF I were to go , I would not go with the expectation of seeing "LED ZEPPLIN", rather just enjoy the music . Steven Tyler puts on a good show from what I've heard. May not be all that bad . Beats sitting at home with your legs behind your ears ....... Brad......

Right, who knows could be better then Plant

I missed out on seeing LedZeppelin (too young), but did see Page & Plant when they toured. I think Jimmy, John Paul, Jason Bonham and Steven Tyler would put on an impressive show. And who knows it might give a new twist to some great songs.

Just got back from Elsinore and it was an awesome day at the lake. Glass water til I left at 3pm.
Anyways DAMN you guys are a tough crowd, but for the most part I agree. He can't hit 'em like he used to. I was reading an article in a British mag that was discussing ALL of the possibilities. Mentioned a guy in a tribute band and another that is supposed to look just like Plant. The "band" really wants to do it and are pissed that Plant is tired of the road after finishing with Alison Krause.
By far the most interesting draw for me would be if they put Nancy Wilson of Heart out front. She can bring it, she has the range, and they often play Zep even to this day at the concerts. I'd pay for that!

Led Zep was cool like thirty years ago ???
should be free shows :sly:

Show some respect Junior ! At times they were magic for several decades of young rockers.
Nothing today will ever come close and I wasn't a real big fan.

I will show respect if they don't tour.

BUT...Jimmy page is still JIMMY PAGE
-
I heard on the radio the other day that preperations for a tour have stopped because they can't get Rober Plant on board.
Without Robert there will be no tour.
-
I heard on Mark & Brian that there WILL BE NO REUNION PERIOD!!!!!!
They cant all agree on anything
-
I am making a big assumption here, but I would imagine that at least 1/3 of the people here are of the "Led Zep" generation. And I know only 9 people responded to the poll, but the results did not indicate much enthusiasm for the show. Dunno what that means, but interesting just the same.
Now if any of you went to any of the Black and Blue shows, that is how Heavy Metal is done!

???
Dont know how old this is but.....

i am a great fan of Zep. them coming back out and touring would be great. i had read that there is a singer in england who supposedly looks and sings like plant did in the early years. there was talk of them getting this guy to sing in place of plant. i guess i could understand plant not wanting to go back out on tour after just coming off a tour. but i still think it would be great to see them play. hell they wouldnt have to do that many dates at all. and the ones they did do would be sold out in minutes.
i had also read that there was the possibility that if plant decides not to join in then they would not be able to use the name at all, due to them all having to agree or something like that. and it was also thrown out that they did not own the name but that the band manager actually owns the name.
so there are many details for them to figure out. but i would go and see them.

heard again today that they will NOT tour and also NO new album :banghead:
