We took the Hallett up to Riverbank today to have the stress crack on the bow repaired. No estimate on retrieval date or cost yet.
We left my house at 6:30 this morning and got home at 5:00 this evening.
What a long ass day on HWY-99.

First off, I eat the F*ck out of the seafood. Have been for 25 years haha.
The river in that area can be tricky, but if you're heading out for the meet, you will be fine as there are guys like Hallett Dave that have been cruising that river since Nam...
As for the rooms, the new wing has nice rooms! The old wing, they are a bit dated but clean.
the pool and spa are nice, but packed with kids during the day.
And last the food, moonshadow does a killer steak (pricey) and again I love the buffet....
This is a very biased review on the Avi because I have been going here 96.32% of my life..

Lol I live near the beach and have yellowfin, and yellowtail stocked in the freezer... just go for the crab legs haha.

We didn't stay at the Avi last year but did launch there. I don't think they start charging to launch until memorial weekend.

Speedboat Magazine confirmed they will be there for a few hours on Saturday to cover this event and shoot some boats.
That being said - I want to schedule a group photo with everyone at 12pm on Saturday.
Here is what I have in mind. Everyone gather where the RED circle is. Have the photo taken from up on the grass looking down where the GREEN circle is. Now the GRAY lines show the general idea of where I would love to have everyone put their boats....or hell even be on your boat floating. The idea is BOATS and PEOPLE. LOTS OF THEM! :-D Wear your SCJB shirts, hats, koozies, etc. Represent strong!

Havasu Springs Resort is ~2 miles further, Plus the long No Wake Zone in the Topock Gorge.
I've done it- Laughlin to Havasu Springs to Laughlin was a long day- 180+ miles with open headers (turn that damn thing off)

Erika will be back from Germany tomorrow. She does not know yet if she will be able to get that weekend off. :(
I need to know if anyone is staying for Sunday. If not I need to know so I can cancel for Sunday.
First trip of the year for me and I am looking forward to seeing everyone.
The Hallett is still slow but it still has a little sparkle left in it. ;)

Thats probably THE WORST spot to make a pass. The water right in front of the bridge and cove is super choppy. In the evening there is a ton of boats and jet skis idling around right there as well waiting for the launch ramp which is right there as well.
I hope everyone uses their best judgement this weekend. I don't want to see ANY 3 wide races, races with other boats/ski's in their path, or wreckless driving. Be the bigger person and back out of you catch yourself in any sketchy situation.
