The Avi will be the host for the SCJB May 2020 trip Mothers Day weekend of May 9th, 2020.
The Venue will be The Avi Resort and Casino (http://www.avicasino.com/) which is between Laughlin and Needles.

Is there a update on this event? Ive tried calling to book the room but no answer....i know the casino is closed but i thought there would be a operator that answers the phone....any info would be appreciated

At time of posting this, this event is NOT cancelled. We are going to ride things out and make the decision to have the event or not at a later date. Let's keep our fingers crossed that this all blows over by the end of the month!

That extension is in Los Angeles county. I am riding this out as LA county is the only extension I am aware of.

As of right now, the event is still on, but pending what the Governor of Nevada says tomorrow. Cross your fingers.

As you all know, we are in the middle of a pandemic. We all were crossing our fingers for some bit of hope to that the Mother's Day event would still proceed. Let's admit it, we all could use a trip to the river and some fun. Sadly, the the 2nd Stop of our 2020 Summer Tour is canceled. It's not what we wanted, but we have to comply as the Governor of Nevada has just extended the stay at home orders and ordered the Casinos to remain closed.
This is the first time we've had to cancel an event since SoCal Jet Boats started over 13 years ago. This doesn't come lightly from Brittney and I. If you would like to help us, please visit our online store (SCJBstore.com) and purchase a shirt or a hat. We just added a bunch of new stuff to the store that we were planning on debuting at this Mother's Day Event. Every little bit helps us continue to do what we love to do - bringing great people together at the river and sponsoring boat races and racers.
We are hoping to add another impromptu date to the SoCal Jet Boats 2020 Summer Tour to make up for this event. We will have more information once the Avi resumes operations.
The Avi will be automatically cancelling all the rooms for that weekend. If you have any questions or concerns about your reservation, please call them.
The next stop of the 2020 Summer Tour is SoCal Jet Boats at Big River! Fathers Day Weekend. At this time, we are still proceeding with the Fathers Day event. Please see that event for information and updates. There is no group rates for this event. Book your rooms at your preferred hotel/motel in Parker, AZ.

I'm in Parker now and you wouldn't know that there is a pandemic! Got here at noon and it's already crazy busy. Put the southwind in the the launch to make sure that it floats and pulled it back out. Gonna have to run it tomorrow morning.
