Cutting Bassett headers

Anyone know how to do this or have done this? N wants to lend a helping hand? I wanna take off that flare at the end of mine! Let me know thanks in advanced!

if your good with a cut off wheel you could use that, i would put a hose clamp around the collector and use it for a guide ;)

if your good with a cut off wheel you could use that, i would put a hose clamp around the collector and use it for a guide ;)

Hose clamp is a good idea, stick it on the outside so it won't scratch. Stick masking tape on the inside to the protect the finish. Use a fine rat tail file when your done to nock off the sharp edges. Take your time for and cut slow, you'll be good to go.

are they wet? If they are you'll find out the have a inter pipe to keep the water from running back into the head!

I have always used a Port O Band and a hose clamp....Makes a beautiful 30 second cut.... 8) You can even angle cut with a band saw, did that on the 5" outlets on my Blazer.... ;)

Most rental yards rent them by the hour. :sly:

Headers like the Bassetts no haveeee the inner pipe like a Gil OT pipe...Good lookin' out though.. ;)

if you want you can bring them to my shop in santa fe springs i have a horizontal band saw and ill cut them for you. I just cut my brothers about a month ago.
