Title: getting busy
Post by: NORDIC454 on December 29, 2011, 11:14:38 AM
with the summer over the business has slowed down pretty much to a halt, being that what I build and market is for outdoor living. So with offroad season here now, I started marketing to that crowd again. I figured since it what ive done for the last 10 years of my career, it would be fun. heres some things iv'e been working on: Mainly marketing the Titan crowd.

Gonna be Tony's Manx in a few weeks, and then his Bronco as well. The fun part is he trusts my skills, and visions. So I can build them as if they were my own. Things always turn out better that way

You will need to plumb it for water cooling through the tubes if it's anywhere that gets over 90 degrees outside.   :screwy:

I have had a few ideas to build a picnic table very similar in design to this one. As for being hot, coat it in a high tempo paint, and it help tremendously. I actually coated mine in a spray-on bedliner caoting, and it isnt too hot in the summer. And our summers are 110+

i know. just a busy time in life right now. Three projects in the build stage, last two classes of school, work, and still trying to have a god time. I will get out there soon. I think we want to do the manx first. that way amanda and the boy have something to ride it. She does not like riding with me in my car.

They are track bars/ladder bars. Designed for the Titans which get crazy axle wrap as soon as you lift the rear with a block. They are universal for 1/2 ton trucks, I need to get somebody with a 2500 that needs a set, so I can get measurements.

how hard is it to clone suspension parts?  im guessing the factory is just a stamped U steel piece?

Doing a perfect copy of geometry isn't hard, but when you start playing with added caster and coil butcket clearance like these it gets tricky and thats where experience kicks in.

Were already setup to do all the work, its just hard finding time to drive 5+ hours one way to drop the off to me. Once the river place is hospitable, well get them here. still starting with the Manx Tony?  I just picked up a Baja build that is starting on Mon. I'll post pics of the progress. Cage front to rear, tranny/engine mounts, custom A-arm front end.[attachimg=1]

So here the '61 Baja Bug project I started last week. I am doing the full cage front to back, with an a-arm conversion in front. Cage is about finished, waiting on the coilovers and motor so I can finish up the rear. Then its off to cut the front end off.

Thanks, I'm not overly happy with the final product design of the cage's roof, but because it has the ragtop, I had no choice. Since I am a Class 1 builder, I like everyrhing to be triangulated. with 3 bars over the seat area. the handle for the ragtop hung so low, I didnt have the headroom to do so. It will have a big roofrack, so that will add a little more protection. it will look similar to this one-[attachimg=1]
