Doing a two piece transom plate, should the seam of the two plates run vertical or horizontal as in picture. Someone told me if i run horizontal it could break my seal in the plates due too pump flex. Also would like too know how far apart should i put bolt holes for transom plate too transom. Any one have any pictures of one done. Thanks Z racing
75 biesemeyer with jet set back the hand hole cover located out side of boat.

looks good to me. Im going to also make a two piece set up like that because i was told thats the right way to do it. I have seen two peice one that that parting line runs vertical as well. I would round the corners off on the plates for the top at least. I would run like 3 bolts on the top maybe 4 and about the same down the sides.

Thanks for getting back too me, just wanted to know if running the parting line horizontal is the way too go. How much should i leave gap wise in between the parting line and around the pump and plate. IS 1/4 inch sufficient? What type of adhesive should i use. They make a good adhesive and caulk or just use silicone? Thanks Z Racing

Just use silicone. 1/4" gap is more than enough. I would run about 1/8"-3/16".

We're in the process of making some 3 piece plates for mine. I don't like peeling the plates off the fiberglass just to mess with the pump so one is going to remain attached to the hull and the 2 small side pieces will be fasten to the main piece after I've drilled and tapped it. Undo the two small plates and slide the pump out.

Here's a couple pics of when I made mine. Hope this helps. Mine was a tricky one because I still wanted access to my clean out cover, so I had to also fab up that backing plate which let's me have full access to hand hole cover. Jack would have killed me I just put put my plates covering my clean out .

19dana, did you make the motor mounts and rail kit yourself also?

Yes I pretty much had to make everything from scratch. I used this old one for the bolt pattern, I have a low profile intake and tunnels that mass mine tricky too.

Sam that clean out cover and angled blocks came out cool. Fire your welder though he sucks.
About the transom plates, mine run vertical but I have no choice because the pump is all the way through the bottom. The previous owner made the plates out of 1/8". They were only screwed into the pod. I'm making them out of 3/16" and through bolting them. I will also be making a strip that runs down the center and bolts to each plate.
