Okay, I'm all for open headers. I love them! But, truth be told, as I grow nearer to 40 years old, long trips in loud boats just gets old. I was laughing the other seeing a young guy with a sh@t eating grin on his face wearing earmuffs on his jet boat. I'm gonna run my exhaust through the transom! I was thinking EMI (Eddie Marine) Thunder exhaust, or the like. My Eliminator Eagle 236 had through transom exhaust with EMI Thunder exhaust and it was FAR more pleasant to cruise in!
However, even that boat made a little racket. Here comes my blasphemous question; Is there any other decibel reducing exhaust that has relatively low reduction in performance? What's the best "bang for your buck" exhaust that balances performance, sound and price? I don't need a covered engine, but may go that route, just for the useable real estate that it offers! Im trying to be non boat model specific here, so the topic has the most relevance to the masses that peruse this forum.
But, I am specifically asking for BBC application. Mk. IV, if that matters, though, off the top of my head, I'm thinking that Mk. IV, Gen 5 and Gen 6 would all utilize the same bolt pattern/gaskets, though that may very well be a topic in and of itself.
What TT exhaust provides moderate to high level performance, with good sound reduction? Secondly, of the options that fit that order, which are the best value?
Thanks,
Nik

The Eddie Marine Thunder would be my choice. You'd experience a minimal power loss and your eardrums will love you for it. So will other boaters.

That's what I thought. I was happy with them in my Eliminator. Thanks for your reply!
