has anyone tried this product poliglow? If so how did you like it or dislike it?

it looks worth a try. i have an old boat around here that i am going to try it out on i think. i will let you know how it turns out.

It looks like a product that I have used before--"vertglass". Same application process. The first time I it used it, I was amazed at the improvement of the oxidized gel coat to a smooth and shiney finish. The only problem was that it didn't last more that a couple of weeks before I started to see it reverting to the ""before" look. Not bad if you are trying to impress someone else in the short term--friend or buyer--but the vertglass products were $70-$80 which seems pretty expensive for the average person. The second time I used it--yeah I was trying to impress someone--I learned that you need to follow the instructions exactly in order to get even the short term, acceptable results. It took alot of wet sanding, buffing, and waxing to get rid of the streaks and give me the long term shine I was looking for all along. Someone remind me that 95% of all shortcuts don't work as planned.

I just got a call from the company and he tells me that out here in ca you will need to put on at least 6 coats and it may have to be done 2 times over a summer. He also states that when you look at it about 6 inches away it does look like it was a brush on job but his words were hey whos going to stare at it for any length of time at 6 inches away. It did say that when using the cleaner it will remove all of the oxadation then you use there brush or what ever it's called to go around the boat and put the poliglow on. In 70 degree weather it will dry in about 2 mins he says. I think I'm going to try the Meguiars restoration kit. That comes with # 49 #45 and # 56. Has anyone tried the meguiars? It's cheaper and I think it will last a season instead of buying to poliglows and have to redo it mid season. I have some oxadation I want to get rid of in some of the deck area. Any thoughts from you guys that have done it? I'm not really into wet sanding..... Thanks Marty

i love the meguires stuff it will do a light oxidation job up pretty good!

I just ordered the Meguiars kit from amazon for 26.00 Will see how it works,,,,

Meguires has a marine kit fo yo glass. Gallon jugs I think.
