Anyone know roughly how much it costs to get the stringers replaced? And where is a good place to get it done?

Lots of people do....
The actual act of putting them in isn't very hard but all the clean up and cutting them in is where all the hard work is.

How much of what kind and so on and so on....
I'm DEFINITELY not the guy to be asking though.
Call some reputable fiberglass shops and see what they say.
Just because some people's boats haven't completely unraveled, doesn't mean they did it right.

if I do it I wanna do it right. Don't wanna end flipping the boat and killing someone cuz I wanted to cut corners. You know a good shop that's not gonna charge me for advice? Lol

I'm getting ready to do mine the prep work is the worst so far .so much dust and it makes you super itchy.sher fab has the marine polyester resin for around $40 a gallon and from what I read you will needsome where around 3 gallons.i have not bought all my glass yet .so I'm not sure of the price on that yet.im having the wife pick up my 2"x6"×12' at ganahl lumber in Corona they are $40 each piece for Douglas fir kiln dried with a 8% moisture rating. When I'm ready to do it all your more than welcome to help me.lol hope this helps give you an idea of what the cost is.

I need to buy probably 2 more gallons of resin and enough glass to do the stringers.

Just don't buy any resin or glass from home d an expect that to work... The resin at a fiberglass place is the best way to go. The fiber will be real thick and sewn together. I did a bunch of floor glass work last year with blue gel coat over it. Came out sick and is holding up perfectly.

Generally it ranges between 2-3k. It's a very time consuming and labor intensive process and critical to the safe function and value of your boat. Proper procedures are paramount. These include correctly supporting the hull prior to removal of the existing stringers and during placement, correctly selecting, cutting and shaping the replacement stringer materials to fit the hull, hull glass prep to assure adhesion, correct cloth material selection, preparation, application and installation of new glass materials throughout. It's the structural core of the boat. It's like your spine, how important is that? What type of boat do you have, what size etc.? Where are you located, I may be able to help.

so much dust and it makes you super itchy.
To help with the itching, before you start, shower and get your body very clean. Then cake on baby powder everywhere. The baby powder will work its way into your pores and prevent the fiberglass grinding dust from affecting you so much.
A disposable painter’s suit will help to limit the exposure to your skin and clothing.
When blowing yourself off with shop air, regulate the air pressure down to 30PSI. It is possible to blow particulates into your skin.
Just a friendly reminder, if the particulates are in the air, they are also getting into your lungs. I highly recommend a properly fitted particle filtration respirator and not just a dust mask. IMO, a dust mask will only keep out birds. Keep in mind, the filter elements do not last indefinitely; they are only rated for 8-hours of use and then should be replaced. Replace them sooner if they become clogged with particulates. I advise getting a name brand, like 3M, so that it is easy to find replacement filter elements
Lastly, don’t just throw your clothes into the laundry along with the wife and kid’s at the end of the day. Fiberglass contaminated laundry definitely won’t help your sex life any.
