so i just repaired the floor on our boat.
so a little back story.... when looking for a new boat i had one major requirement must have a good hull warranty. the reinell has a lifetime hull and stringer warranty so we went with it ( i didnt read the fine print). the boat has been great, other than it not being a jet ;)
well the floor started to flex and i called the manufacturer and they said that it is covered and FREE but i would have to deliver it to them... no problem right?? they're in Oregon and im in socal :banghead:.
so my options are pay to have the boat shipped by UShip $1 grand each way, drive it myself about $300 drop to it off and $300 to pickup it up not to mention food and souvenirs on the way $??, pay local shop $?? or fix it myself.
i fixed it myself and here are some pics. Cost - fiberglass tape $25.99, hardener .44pt (fast) $20.99, resin 1qt $41.99
problem - separation at a floor seam

carpet removal, which was hard trying not to damage it (hours - 1)

adhesive remover, i read here on SCJB that the citrus stuff worked and surprisingly it did very well just roll in on and putty knife it off (hours - 2) :thumbup:

i used a HF tool to cut the epoxy,they made it easy to remove the floor panel in case you have to remove the tank but it is a week spot. (hours - 2)

i screwed a support board for addtional strength (hours - 1)

refilled the seams with epoxy (hours - 1)

total 8 hours

used some fiberglass to tape over the seams for more strength, it looked good when wet but it kinda curled like bacon after it dried.

not pictured but applied carpet adhesive to the floor (again with the help of SCJB on which adhesive use - Roberts) (hours - 1)

seats installed and like new again ;D (hours - 1)

i can tell you i am glad that i did the repair, total of ten hours of work. it was easy and straight forward. if i can do it you can too. btw this was my second boat floor repair job the other time was on the fantasy.

Nice job, I like that you were able to save the carpet and lay it back down.
