so, i traded some stuff i had for an old jet boat.... that didnt run. i did all the normal maintenance and new cables, etc.. now it runs great and looks great
put it up on CL for sale, but while it sits here i got the urge to work on it some more, so i pulled out the interior. under the carpet i found two areas where the floor is all cracked up, it looked pretty bad so i dug in and scrapped it all out and ground it with my 36 grit wheel to get ready for some glass repair... but
looking at it, it looks like a non critical area where the floor meets the actual bottom of the boat. after removing all the cracked up "stuff" it is now clear that it was only filled in that area to make it easier to carpet? maybe?
so, either way i was thinking of glassing it back the way it was so the carpet will be flat. but.... and here is the question.
it looks like it was filled with epoxy... i chipped it out in big chunks because it never seemed to bond to the glass under it.
so, can i glass over that area? or will i have trouble with the little amount of epoxy left? i dont really want to grind anymore than i have to.
thanks
andy
