Title: How much to fix this?
Post by: shanesanity on May 30, 2015, 10:20:46 PM
1980 18ft eliminator bubbledeck that's been run up on the beach a little too much. Thoughts on the repair? Cost?

Does it leak?

Look into a keel guard.

mine was not that bad maybe 1 1/2" over all, I did exactly what GT said and installed a keel guard I think I remember mine being like 5' that's it,  when the boat is in the water and also running u can't see it. And u have the protection of beaching it.

It doesn't seem to leak yet, but I'm worried because the V shape has flattened to more of a U shape. I can see it taking a hit and losing watertight integrity.

Does that keelguard effect performance at all? Does it peel off over time? Thanks for the input!

That's rad. Did you notice anything when behind the wheel? How long did it last?
