Are you talking about the bulk head or the center keel of the hull?

Looks like it needs to be replaced, I don’t think resins alone would fix this

it looks like dry rot! i would start by sanding and grinding it back to clean wood. you may find that its just on the surface. but probably have to replace the whole piece. and yes it will be a pain!!! lol get a piece of card stock and trace it out before you start. so you have a template. best to do it from the inside. good luck

Thanks for the pictures. When installing the bulkhead do you use resin to hold it in place or do you apply fiberglass mat to both to hold it in place?

I used shims to hold in place. Then used a few small pieces of chop strand to tab it in. Then I cut the strips of chop strand and 8oz cloth and laminated around the perimeter of the bulkhead. I laid down the chop then put the cloth over the chop before it setup

Also make sure to prep the area where the new bulkhead will go. I noticed old carpet and adhesive in your pictures about. You will want to remove the carpet and a adhesive and sand with 36 or 40 grit in the area that will get the new glass.

Also, I think I had about 1/4 to 3/8 tolerance between the new bulkhead and hull. I was told not have any wood touching the hull.

Finally, I am a weekend warrior, this was my first project boat. I have only have experience with resin and fiberglass before this. There are probably people with way more knowledge than me.
