And the cause?
The trailer latch bolt snapped off, causing the trailer to no longer be connected to my jeep.

It also snapped off both safety chains, and when it passed me, it was doing 20 MPH and narrowly avoided a schoolyard full of children before ending up in the ditch.

Holes in hull - from anaheim fullerton towing company - Notice the impact site is on the OTHER side! They even admitted they did it to 5 people standing around when we unloaded it, and I have witnesses that saw it happen at the site - Oh yea - and I asked them to stop doing what they were doing before it happened...

100% out of pocket - the towing co in the end claimed they didn't do it. My auto insurance wouldn't cover the "cargo" to the trailer (the boat), and the watercraft insurance didn't cover it because I wasn't driving it and / or it wasn't on the water.


Yea, I posted the accident on HotDrama (er Hotboat), but now that that site seems to have gone away, I figured I'd just repost it here otherwise the new gel coat pics would be out of context.

 :D No, that chain is the emergency brake.

2x 3/8ths chain is not strong enough aparently for a 21 foot boat - the new trailer (supposed to be done Wed)  is getting the BIG stuff.

Orange County Boat Repair in Stanton is doing the work, should be done by Wed.

That's what I said. Seriously, if it popped off 20 feet earlier, there were kids playing on a playground RIGHT THERE.  I wouldn't have been able to live with myself. Someone gave me a second chance....

Salvador @ OC Boat Repair does a great job. My Roger's is up there right now getting its new look. I saw your boat saturday before last getting preped. Are you picking it up during the week or waiting till saturday?

All depends on the trailer and when it actually gets finished. Is your boat the purple and orange one?

Thats a Sanger. Mine is the white and brown boat. It came in after yours, I think it will be sprayed this week. They were sanding it last week. I'm working on my trailer also, might end up picking the boat up with the trailer in primer and temp. lights.
