The boat is a 76 Eliminator bubble deck with decent metal flake silver gelcoat and black trim. There is a thin light blue pinstripe which parrells all the black trim. There is a 12" section near the point of the bow where a very armature repair was done by past owner. Someone obviously hit a dock straight on. Can anyone help me estimate what to expect in cost with this and these anticipated restorations? I would really appreciate comments from those of you who have similar experience. Thank you!
1. glass repair at bow 12" x 12" section and gelcoat to blend
2. convert bench seat in back to 2 side facing each other (common configuration) and then new top grade vinyl on ALL seating.
3. new carpet (black is just too stinkin hot)
4. add a bold accent color to the black trim all the way around the boat (not sure yet what color)
That's going to be an expensive fix on the front of your bow. You can't just repair the section and blend it at that line. To do it correctly someone will have to regel a good amount of the boat. Metal flake is difficult, especially silver. I'd expect to be close to $10k for the repair and adding a color to break up the black.
Interior may be a can of worms. That's not a simple modification. You're asking for a new interior and carpet. That's going to be a few thousand at least.
All said and done I'm guessing you'd be $15-20k into the project. At that point you still have an old engine and pump along with old rigging.
If you're wanting a perfect boat then you might look into building a new one. Tahiti has the 19' gullwing mold, Advantage has the Roger Bonneville mold.
