i already done alot of wet sanding and buffing but now im considering paintng this thing one solid color can i paint of the wood grain? how bout te metal flake?

if there is a chance its real wood DONT paint it.  you ll be kicking yourself for a long time!   wood is awesome.

 Come on guys, its a 73 Kona, its not a real wood deck.   I would still do everything I could to save it because I like it.   But, konajet its your boat and it only needs to make YOU happy, so if you don't like it, paint it.   ;)

if its not real you can look real real close at the grain and see dots where the grain was printed on the fiberglass cloth.

I would leave the wood and just reclear it but its your boat do what you want

i like the wood grain thats y i made a thread in showcase about woodgrain and diffrent colors trying to find out what i can match with the woodgrain that will look good i kinda planned on a metallic blue but i think that would look horrible with wood grain

its really going to depend on you ! but i like wood with like a white or an off white. kinda a cream color.

ok after a day of thinking bout this issue i decided no paint even if the gel is a little rough in some places im sure the true jet boat people can respect a 40 year old gel job with the bitchen wood grain so tomorrow i go to the detail shop get some more 2000 grit and some new compound and new pads for the high speed buffer ill post pics as i get it done
