I have cut out the old pump intake .now I need to glass up the hole so I can set the Berkley intake . What type of glass will I need and resin .and any pointers .I ground down the surrounding area so I can build it back up.

West systems expoy resin is good stuff and having the pumps is handy. Sherfab in ontario usually has it in stock but it is more expensive than you can get online. They sell all of the fabrics too so I'm sure they can recommend some.

What you want is a good Polly laminating resin.
I would use some 22 oz bi-axle and alternating with some 2 or 3 oz cloth.

Curious of your plan of attack. Are you planning on filling in the entire hole and then re-cutting for the new intake? Have you laid in the berk intake to see exactly how much and where you need to add or remove? I would think you'll be working from both sides (top and bottom) of the hull, which means flipping the boat. Best way I can think of is to make a template or mold of what you want to add. I would use a polyurethane laminating resin for sure, not epoxy, and the bi-axial or heavy mat like Jake said, it's what your hull is made of now. I would think a gallon would be plenty and maybe a yard or yard and 1/2 of clothe if you don't waste it. Are you closing in the transom any?

If not S&W, then I would for sure go to Sher-Fab they having everything as well, plus gelcoat, flo-coat if you want to go that far.

Don't forget to buy a fiberglass roller, probably like a 4"x1", makes getting air bubbles out much easier
