Looking good ;D

Looks Great, Now, how do you cut out the old bulkheads before you start new ones?
-
i replaced my bulkhead using my existing one as a template (I know you dont have one to use)...theres a good 6"+ from the top of it to the bottom side of the deck, but there isnt an access port like you have made.
I have heard 2 different sides to bulkheads.....someone told me to seal the bow off completely...make it air tight...so it floats if it sinks...then someone else said to leave a 1/4" to 1/2" inch gap between the deck and the top of bulkhead...this allows the bow to flex freely as glass and gel flex and wood doesnt.
Here is some pics of how i did mine....i basicly replaced what was there (from the factory)....since it was an early rogers, I am not sure if its the right or wrong way to do it, but it works.
two supports bolted to the deck then glassed to the floor....
[attachimg=1]
then put in the bulkhead (it goes all the way down to the keel, but not sealed to allow water to escape) and butted the floor up to it.

Thanks for info Brad, i was going to seal it all up (floor) But i did forget about water needing to escape. Gee its a freaking boat and i forget about water :o
Man im glad you told me that before i did it ;)
Now i just need to go get wood, 1/2 " should be good. Ya think?
2sav
-
yeah....i used 1/2" for the bulkhead...3/4" for the floor.
-
Hay Sav how's the project going? haven't heard anything about it.... :-\

I never went to get the wood, i got side tracked with this dam motor, but things are looking up it seems, and its cold here hows Havasu. Looks like i will be coming down that way soon to get some machine work done on my Big Boy 466 build.
Wooo Hooo cant wait to get it started ;)

2sav....
refer to your motor as a 460......saying 466 is like saying your insecure with your manhood making every 1/16" count. ;)

Yeah i hear its supposed to rain tomorrow, not good i have too many boats and not enough cover. And a cold one sounds good to me, probably wont be till after Xmass. if i go spending money on the boat before xmass, i think the woman of the house will have something to say about it ;)
