Post by: FordLover on February 25, 2015, 09:49:49 AM
Anyone ever done it? Results? My intake looks tired and dull. Thought it could be an option

Was thinking of a blue to match the boat?  They said they can do metallic too.

That would be sweet.
I'd ask to see example of something done in the metallic though.  Perferably in the same color

I did mine in what they call a super chrome? Kinda looks like a good polished aluminum? But I won't ever half to polish it again! Just wipe it down! Before and after

Yeah I dont like the chrome looks cheap on finished surfaces.  It like cheap chrome on a low rider

Very cool guys!  I like what you have goin on!  Talked with a powder coating shop near home and he gave me a rough estimate of $250.  Seem high?  Low?  Just right?  High rise dual intake.

Sounds high
Shop around a lil or if he has good references but I would also say if you have anything else have him do it one trip to him

Jeez, what am I missing here?  To make it metallic and not just a flat color the last guy said he would do a coat of silver and then blue over the top.  $400

I am probably asking for the wrong specifics about the color itself.  Was kind of wanting to shoot for a sparkly, shiny blue.

Hells YA!  Picked up the intake today.  Think I stepped outside my box a little bit, but damn it looks good.  For sure a hell of a lot better than that dirty old beat up gray color.  I'll post some pics up later when I get a second.   >:D
