Thanks man. Think I'll start in Corona and work my way out.
BTW, thought I saw u at Elsinore a while back throwing shoes and hangin out, I should have said hi. Later I realized it was ur boat. Also saw the cops hit u up on ur way out of the cove, all good I guess.

GS is pretty spendy but they are good. I wanted some major glass work done on my daycruiser and everyone said to talk to Rick at Islander in Upland. Basically what I want done in to have my dash area cut out and moved forward. Simple but it has to be done right. I took a bunch of good pics and emailed him what I wanted done. 3 weeks later with no response I went over there and he basically tells me that he doesn't ever look at emails and so even when I pull up the pics on my phone he says I need to bring it by so he can look at it. A simple yes or no should not have been too hard from a guy who has done this work for decades. I ask him "is this a $1000 job or a $2000 job?" Uhh I don't know, we'll have to see.
Every sentence out of the guys mouth said he really didn't want the job, and was in no hurry to get me in. Kinda wish he had just said so.
Beerjet ~ I've never heard of House of Boats, are they good? Where are they in Fontana?

They had all kinds of stuff going on.
Dude even went so far as to say that "All the local shops bring their stuff to here, so if you take it somewhere else, odds are it'll end up here..."
Prices were about on par with everyone else.
They are on Cherry and Arrow.

I thought all they did with resin in Fontana was sniff it. Who knew?

There is Stu at Tracer Marine in Corona...right off the 15 just north of the 91. I've seen flat sexy work out of his shop, but I've also seen crap. I got halfass crap for $1500 on a repair job while I saw an amazing transom replacement that he charged $2000 for. yMMV.

Well this is an easy job but it has to be done right or it won't look good in the long run. I need to find and OldSchool guy who has chopped and channeled a few cars I think. What I want to have done is the dash cut out and then moved forward about 6-10 inches. There appears to be enough room that this should be easy, but it has to be done right because it will flex and is a stressed structure. Fortunately everything is white so matching the paint should hold no real drama.

So moving the seats back isn't an option....

I'd recommend my guy, bob, he's in lake elsinore. Worked at a local boat shop for 10 years. Boats cars bikes you name it. Chop channel stretch etc...if you want his number pm me. He does work out of his back yard but nobody can beat his quality imo. If you want his number pm me. Last time I gave out on an open thread I guess a bunch of people called him and he got pissed at me lol. He's an odd ball Btw.

Hey, just saw your pm... I haven't had repair done yet. I had another member of the forum contact me and offer to take a look and possibly help with it before I pay a shop. I sent him pics but haven't made it over to his house yet.

I've been talking with a couple people about this and so I had to take some pics. Thought I'd post them so you could get a better idea of what I'm talking about. Stretching the cockpit forward gives me a lot more options building a larger more comfortable interior and some much needed space between the motor and back seat. She's going to need a new floor and sideboards and stereo anyway. I think this boat is gonna be a keeper.
-
Hard to get a good pic of the underside of the job. I guess I'm gonna have to lose my faux fur ceiling but I am not giving up my fridge. Plenty of room to relocate. Some boats came with ski lockers. Mine came with a beer locker O0

Even recommended shops are a roll of the dice.

TRG Fiberglass (626) 991-9031.
Todd works out of Rowland Heights and will come to you to check out your boat.
Good guy and is good with giving advice if you want to do stuff yourself.
He did the paint on this CP. Boost has a couple of pics of it on Instagram.
