I found this on another site, anybody try doing it like these guy's did? if the stringer case is still good, looks like a fast and cheap way of replacing some stringers ;D

I wonder if you could do this and just splice in new wood where you take the bad wood out?

I'm pretty sure that The Chaz had his 1/4 stringers replaced at Eliminator Boats, or maybe it was Ultra Boats, either way... he paid $800 for both stringers.

I think that the way those stringers were replaced in the above post, might be a good way to get stringer location but I don't think it would keep the stringers perfectly verticle/parallel with each other.  ???

now i really dont know my ass from a hole in the ground, but the fiberglass is laid up on the stringer and the stringer is on three layers of fiberglass that is bonding to the hull. i just dont see how you can get a good bond the way they did it. but like i said i dont know shit, maybe oldrigger will chime in.

OK this is my take on it, but i too dont know shit ;D

pour resin in the slot, install stringer, Clamp all around. Then after dried finish glassing ???

Maybe that was a quick fix to sell the boat ???

Good point Ralph,  I see what you mean on bonding to the hull.

My way would just be laying glass over top of it while the stringer never bonds to the hull ;)

So there would be no strength what so ever.   F that!

$800 From Ultra Custom Boats in El Cajon last year.  Did leave a few drops of resin on my paint and laminate over dirt at the front edge though.  The Stringers were good though.
