On how and which order to lay fiber glass when installing new stringers for instance . Where and how much , that sort of thing . I've read several threads before and thought there were several ways and there was a general consensus on how to do it. maybe just some tips on what not to do . I will be having my stringers planned down to 1" . Good or bad . Thought this might make some good reading for others as well.

I would use mat first, then for the last layer of glass go with cloth. The mat is stronger than cloth, but I prefer the cloth for asthetics, so the cloth will make it look neat on top while the mat underneat will give it the strength.

Jon,  Here's another opportunity to show your stuff and take us from BAD stringers to new ones with new glass.  ;D

I've heard 2" on either side of a seam with the mat . Squeezing as much of the resin out as possible , from there I'm kind of in the dark . I helped a buddy of mine do his and his is doing fine , I just dont know if there are some guidlines for laying glass somewhat correctly .
