Title: whats the diffrence between gel coat n clear coat

ok guys havent been on for a while been working alot so now im close to paint on my project but i was wondering what the diffrence is between gel coat n clear coat the 2 and if one benifits over the other .thanks and any help would be grateful.

clear coat is a paint , gel coat is well not.  its thick and gets harder over time , is not easy to spray. and is the best there is for boats! clear coat is for autos not boats in my opinion. however gel coat is VERY expensive !!!!!

Used both...I just covered my inside of hull with blue gel and used 1/2 nap roller this past winter/spring. Gel will be a bit more durable.
