So I saw some guys on that FB group 'jet boats rock' talking about some kind of way to fix porpoising.....and then i just saw this pic of the guys work.
Is this a joke? Do they seriously think this is a 'fix'? Might as well put a parachute on the back of the boat to slow it down to keep it from porpoising lol
sad part is so many guys are believing this guys bullshit.

hes claiming that the MFG (Taylor) told him to do this lol.
Now what does he do when the screws rip out and hes sitting there taking on water quicker than he can pump it out?

That's OK. He just needs a bigger drill bit. Maybe a hole saw. And maybe a bigger tube of silicone. ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, wouldn't that make the porpoising worse?
-
Naw! It's not the correct way to fix it but it probably works! But if that thing starts the chine or rolls over a wave the wrong way and catches that corner at speed he's going in the drink!

Would be real funny if someone gave him this advice as a joke. My dad once told a guy that rorating the air in his tires would help his car issues he was having. Guy came back the next day and said the car was still having issues after rotating his air

I don't find anything funny about giving a guy "advice" that would screw his stuff up. Telling someone to rotate their air, find their flicker fluid container or their muffler bearing is funny harmless fun to those that know the jokes but telling someone to intentionally drill through the bottom of there boat for something that will cause problems is not funny at all and shows a persons real character.
We all joke but to really do something like that is crap.
But IMO I think whats really going on with that red boat is it has the tank straps are mounted through hull which some boats were from the factory and someone throughout time thought putting that block there would help secure them better. Just a guess but id like to think someone wouldn't screw someone like that

Think your correct on the gas tank idea.
When I got new tanks a guy from a boat shop said some guys use straps to hold in the round style. I asked how to mount the round tank he said u drill through and bolt em. I said well its true theres holes where my pump I dont want anymore. I got square ones and glassed them in.
My buddy had a 18 mini day Southwind and cant get that thing to not porpoise. If u told him to try this he probly would. He has trim plates off each side the stainless ones with adjustable hiem joints. He has had wedges no wedges droop no droop went from jetovator to place latest is tweaking length on trim plate off the pump. Nothings worked and not fun slapping ur knees on the dash. Anyway did he explain how or why the idea that would help. Or was he being sarcastic and its really backing up the screws from pulling through his hull to hold in his tanks. Ive never been on jet boats rock.
