no eliminator owners with opinions or thoughts?
I grew up on a '74 Eliminator, "Rich Bitch", 18', bbf, berk, pop owned it from '76-84, never drove it myself. Had that boat at the Parker strip, Havasu to Laughlin, Lake Mead in '83, Silverwood, Perris, Puddlestone, and Lake Shasta ('76?)
In August of 2003, while vacationing at lake Mohave, An Eliminator (bubble deck, '89 or so) owner and his brother asked if I would "hold the flag" while they tried to wakeboard, one brother asked if I knew how to pull a skiier. I said I also owned a squirt boat, and had pulled many double and single skiiers, and tubes/knee boards, but never a wakeboard. I ended up driving that Eliminator for the rest of the afternoon pulling them on the wakeboard. As far as top speed, I don't know, but it hadled ski duties better than my boat.
I've had my 21' Eliminator Daycruiser for 3 years now, and its built like a tank, 4 stringer hull. Had the wind kick up on lake Mead on Memorial day 2011, 7+ foot waves in Greggs basin, that would have sunk my bowrider. It took a beating, but held up very well, I was impressed. Most all of the rigging is all original, and well thought out for its age ('76)
From what I've heard, the bubble decks were all pretty similar, and take well to hp and pump mods. My "bubble deck" bowrider Saguaro, hits just under 60 with sbc power (325 hp) originaly had bbf power, and hit 51mph.
Hope this helps some
Daniel
