one time when i used to live in cherry valley. I was coming home from a test run at Elsinore.
I was cutting through san timoteo canyon and through a neighborhood.
The first stop sign in this neighborhood is at a steep angle. I NEVER used to strap the back of my boat down.
Well i dont exactly remember what all happened. But i ended up getting on the throttle pretty hard in my truck. Hard enough to light the tires up. When the truck gained traction there was this big ass bump i felt.
Looked in the rear view mirror and i could see the bow of my boat coming up and flipping the floater bar over
pulled over and got out, the back of the boat was about 4 feet off the trailer. Limped it home, and pulled it back on the trailer with the truck after chocking the wheels
Lesson learned. Boat gets tied down EVERY trip now

I guess the guy said he got hit, trailer came detached, went up the embankment on the side of the freeway, back down and then hit the center divider and that's when the boat came off the trailer. So, it was tied down and everything. And apparently, the car that hit him fled scene. Shitty deal for sure.

We were hit by a tour bus changing lanes into the old Circus boat coming back from the river years ago. F'ed up the trailer and cracked the deck, but after viewing this we got REAL lucky......

X2 that's what he said on face book,my wife showed me the post, feel bad for the guy shitty deal. I don't have face book and Prolly never will but I couldn't believe the amount negative comments on the post! Guy should've done this , idiot that. I guess whatever you post on fb ur subject to ridicule and judgement and I get that to an extent. But the guys boat just flew off his trailer bc of some other idiot not his own doing. I've got a lot of time and money in my boat just like all of us. I'd hope to see support and comrodiery from all on scjb if this happened to me
Just my $.02

Thanks guys. It was my boat. And that is exactly what happened. Luckily, the damage isn't too bad. I got about $3500 in damage to the hull. The cap popped about 6 feet around the deck and i have about a 9 inch crack in the deck that needs repairing. Bottom needs to be reglassed and painted but no holes or cracks. Bulkhead and strings are not damaged so thats good. Oh and the best part, i have to replace my heads. I have a crack in one head on each side, just above the water lines. If any of you know of any BBF 469 heads for sale let me know. Thanks!
