Title: Allen Boat Co?

New to the forum and I am looking to buy a boat soon. I came across the boat below and the owner says its an Allen Boat Co hull and they were made in OC. I can't find any info on them so I am turnig to you guys. Anyone heard of these hulls,a re they good? Any help you could provide would be great.

I don't know anything about it yet. I just came across it today, I will ask some questions tomorrow. I am just worried that I can't find any info on the manufacturer.

What are the advantages of a tunnel hull, and why does the jet seem to stick out further on them? Is there any risk in buying a boat where I cannot find any info about the maker? This boat seems somewhat small for an open bow, and the owner says it sits low in the water. Is it realistic to think I could put 6 people in here and cruise around the river? I have found a few other boats out there so I am by no means set on this one, I would just like to get some info before I move on or continue talking to the guy.

Post by: icecreaman on November 18, 2013, 07:46:44 PM: I'd almost bet that is a conversion from an out board to a jet. Right hand drive and the way the transom almost has a built in stand off. I'd maybe think twice with out a whole lot of inspecting. Could be a nice boat but....
