As I recall Bakers were ok back in the 70's. I have no idea how they've stood up over the years. Check some of the other threads here @ SCJB on finding age problems with older hulls.  Good luck

I remember hearing some info on the Bakers . Just cant remember what it was . There is a fellow that frequents Elsinore in a Baker Tunnel . He says he made the conversion from egg beater to a half whack and dropped a blown small block in it . He also says it'll run 100 + over the chop  :-\ He talked and talked , and I listened and listened . For some reason the tunnel looked exactly like an Advantage Banshee (which would explain why it was a whacker to begin with) . If I'm not mistaken the v bottoms were a knock-off of something else . Put up a pic , I'm sure it's a spittin image of something out there .

A good friend's dad was very tight with jerry Baker back in the day,  from what I gathered, the tunnels are bad ass, VERY VERY VERY close to a stoker-

I've seen the Stoker tunnels but never a Stoker pickle fork type hull .

My Buddy's got an 18' Baker tunnel, but it has a 200Yamaha on the back of it. It does 72 on the GPS, with one person and all the gear out of it. It's pretty scary at WOT, likes to chine walk all over the place. But then again this is an outboard boat not jet. I know there was a guy on hotboat that had a jet baker tunnel and he put ALOT of work into it

PM Bakertunnel on here...Good friend of mine here in Tucson and he has an open bow Baker tunnel with a built BBC tunnel ram and dual quads...Nice boat...Looks like a V bottom until you really look under it and see the tunnels...And it DOES NOT haul ass in the rough shit....But it does haul serious ass!
