Title: Bilge pumps

Post by: ka0tyk on January 13, 2014, 05:47:55 PM: no. you'll pump from one and there is a likelihood that it'll go down the other, water takes the path of least resistance. do NOT use a check valve either. they can get clogged and then you'll be screwed.

You shouldn't need more than one in a v bottom. one big bildge should be fine. i run 3 in the tunnel but the 2 on the outer sponsoms dump into the center tunnel and then out

I was just wanting a back up. One automatic and one manual back up. Could I plumb the back up into the engine circuit. Or I guess put one on the drivers side of boat.

Not all engines have 2 dumps. Are both necesary with the bypass?

That's the wayy the boat came when I bought it and it seems to work good as far as cooling goes.
