Hey guys.. So, my floor was feeling spongy and I decided to check it for rot, and well.. I found a lot!   I've pulled up the old plywood floor (which was glassed in) and the old single stringer up the middle.. My problem is that I'm not sure that I want to experiment for the first time w/ fiberglassing my boat!?  I'm thinking I'd like it done right the 1st time so I never have to worry about it.  Anyone know what about what it would cost to do if I brought the boat to a shop as it is?  I'm in Lakewood, CA..

I had to cut out the old wall and pull out the foam that was in the nose to get to the end of the stringer..

I checked them out and got and estimate, they seem like the do really good work!  Unfortunately, I don't have the coin it would take.  I've done quite a bit of research and think I can do it.. We'll see how it goes   One question though is what type of wood I should use for the stringer and type of plywood for the sub floor?

how funny i am half way through doing the same thing on my boat. wife looked overshoulder one night and asked what our boat was online for.ha ha ha...i have all ripped out right now and fabbing up the rear bulkhead i guess and the keel beam and then in we go. i was told to use marine grade plywood for floor.

gotta agree with Beerjet marine plywood only needed below the waterline save your money your going to need it somewhere else for sure

I hope you put some support under that hull before removing the stringers....otherwise your hull could lose it shape a bit...   

Not to get too off track but I thought I saw this boat for sale on some web site and it was advertized as a Rogers. ( it even had a Rogers cast name plate on the dash) If this is the same boat and dm2bfree just bought it as a Rogers I think you were sold a fraudulent boat. I have never seen a Rogers with a keel stringer and half stringers for the motor.  Roger would never let a boat out the door like that.  Hope all goes well for you which ever way you do the fix.  If what I thought turns out to be true let us know who sold it to you so someone else doesn't get scammed by the same guy.

we used spuce wood like they used in the spuce goose. and used sea going putty to set it in. then glassed over the top..
