My HIN is: MBD183240178h .
Supposedly a Marlin Boats Co. out of Everett, Wash. Built by Don Whatmore after his split up from Jerry Skagen.
With the lack of internet info and no record of the # on the USCG HIN search site, and finding out there are and were several different "Marlin" companies throughout the years, I'm stumped. Anyone have any "extra" insider info on the Everett Marlin co. or Don Whatmore himself?
He used to race a jetboat called the K-Motion, and also a boat (which I believe is a V-Drive) called E-Motion!

Also the HIN is located dead center of the hull, unlike most others that are on the passenger rear side.

There really is no trail on these old boats.
Usually your best bet is to go visit someones boat shop that's been around or talk to someone that's been around since then.
Maybe even a website geared more towards historical facts.
Every guy I've run across has been more than happy to tell a tale of how things were and who was who...
Now finding these guys....that's a different story.

True true.
I'm only going off what the guy said I bought it from. Skagen is a pretty well known place up here in the PNW, and Whatmore and Skagen had a shop together BEFORE Whatmore was doing his own thing. (Skagen has no info on Don's 1970's builds).
 Not really gonna gain anything from finding out WHICH Marlin Co. it is, but I guess, like when building my '32 Sedan, it was cool to find out as many of the previous owners I could for shits and giggles!?!?
