How come most jets I see have a v hull is it for the jet ? Are the jets not suited for flatbottoms? I have seen a few but not many..

sounds like an oxymoron to me ::)

To truely answer this question for yourself, drive one, ride like crap, turn like crap, cavitate and chine walk, sounds like fun to me.

I have ridden in one my dad has a 18 ft aqua craft flat bottom. Hard on the back but it will fly. My question is does a jet pump work better in a v hull than a flat bottom.

Can't imagine there is much difference in a straight line on smooth water, but I'd bet different story in a chop or turns...Just my .02c

There's too much hull lift in a flattie for a jet to load right. light chop will raise the hull out of the water and cause the pump to unload, guys who think they can make them work also don't have the skills to get out the go peddle fast enough and will shortly grenade the motor. Ride is 2x rougher than when you have a prop in the water. Besides 40+ years of knowledge would kind of indicate that it doesn't work but if you insist go right ahead. By the way resale value after it doesn't work is basically the SCJB price ($50)
