i did this in my raspberry....though it only lasted 3 laps, i loved it and i plan on doing this in my new project. I didnt do it in the crazy eights because it was doubling as a lake boat and wanted a second seat for rides.
the reason i like center steering is youre on the keel...keeps the weight center.....when the boat starts rocking side to side from the cross wake of your previous lap, you dont feel it....the boat rocks around you rather then you bouncing with the boat and even more bouncing off balance.
and the reason you wont see a v-drive set up this way is because they have no keel.....flat bottom boats wont rock side to side like a v-bottom
