i was encouraged to post some  info..
i picked up  a 21 ft manta ray day cruiser..
anyone have any info on what the real deal is on this brand ?
berkley jc pump and a harmann 460...



i pickup up some sawsall blades.. looks like i'll be making a run to the dump...
engine should work in my truck.

i haven't had  a chance to cut it up yet.
i've only cut out the forward stringers and all the floors.

You've got a BIG HOLE in the dash.     Don't be like everyone else on here and just get it fixed up and ready to go have fun and then sell it to do another.  I don't know what you gave for it, but there's a guy here that has been trying to sell his Tahiti (looks something like yours) for the last year only he wants way too much for what he has.  I think at last check he was asking $4900.00 Maybe that's not bad, just doesn't seem right to me.

Yea, IMO, you got to like the boat a lot to rebuild it because froma financial standpoint it's a losing situation (usually). I know someone that may be interested in the hull and trailer  . Throw those guys at the dump a cigarette when no boss's are looking and they'll take care of you. LOL. Unhook the hull from the trailer, attach the hull to a dozer, and drive your truck and trailer away from the hull. Sit back and watch the short show by the dozer. Good times in a smelly location.

i know in the day it was the dogs balls..as far as day cruisers go..
same bottom as a howard and the others?

the bottom is in great shape .
the stringers and floors are an easy deal.

im just a little burn out at the moment.
i live in an annoying neighborhood.
if i give myself some time, i'm sure i'll fix it.

i have alot of projects.

if i do it, i will keep it for a long long time.
heck ,lets put it this way.. i put over 1000 hrs on my last stand up jet ski.. if that is any indication.

this would be my choice for a 21 footer..so i know i have the right boat..
i don't even mind the woodgrain.

but..seems the bottom is pretty thin..
mistake .. cheep skate.. or pissed off layup guy's ?
makes me wonder how anyone would ever run one without full length stringers.. seems they would asking for trouble  ?

anyhow.. not much info on the brand? seems like it is one of them deals where they borrowed a mold ?
it does have cool logo's.

like i said.. i'm on the fence on this one..

Sounds like a cool project for someone wanting a light, quick minidaycruiser.

i know it is to big to go over 65 mph.. without some serious hardware..
so i guess the bobbling boat syndrome isn't really an issue.

i can't bring myself to get rid of it...
in the day, i could never afford one...

I can tell you this...  If you do make a project that you'll keep for the long term...  Once you have it completed, and will all the input from the forums, you'll know as much, if not more, than the people who built it in the first place.  The wood grain can be painted over if you don't like that part.  I think, for its style, you'd have a great family boat.
