Gunna pick up one of those 9" buffer deals from harbor freight to keep the hallett lookin clean. What are some good polishes and waxes i can pick up to go along with it? What type of cloth bonnets do you guys reccomend? Thanks!

This I the stuff I have been using to get my boat looking nice. I found it at a boat show a few years back and have been using it ever since. I haven't found it in a store but I get it online at www.driventoperfection.com. It works great and they have different ones for different applications. I bought one of the buffers from harbor freight and I just use one of the wool pads to apply the polish and use a micro fiber rag to wipe it off. Hope that helps

I know there are allot of personal opinions about wax & polish. My 2 cents worth is the white wool bonnet for the compound and a foam eggcrate for finishing. I'm a fan of 3M products, I color sanded my bow a few months ago and I used the 3M Perfect -It # 06085 purple bottle rubbing compound and the 3M machine polish #06064 and it did great. After that I like to use Mothers Carnuba wax, and for the quick stuff like when I pull the boat out of the river and crack open another beer. :beer: and light the BBQ, I use Lucas Slick Mist spray wax. The smell of the old school lighter fluid along with the spray wax and my cold :beer: just does it for me... :screwy:... :thumbup:

I use 3m too, any paint shop will have it. Those are more for after sanding though or trying to cut out scratches and swirls. For regular waxing I use meguiars carnauba wax on a wool pad to apply and foam egg crate to buff out or just a microfiber rag. After I pull the boat out I wipe it down with meguiars #7 glaze with a couple of microfibers.

yeh if you have a decent amount of oxidation at all, regular paint waxes/cleaners/compound just aint gonna cut it. sure once you have a mirror finish then you can apply that stuff but if you need to cut, you gotta use gelcoat friendly materials.
