I have a feeling he's talking about the rub rail coming off and it looks like the boat is splitting in half hehe.

If you are worried about that crack around the whole boat, don't be. The deck wont fall off.  that is where somebody attempted to cap your rub rail gap.
The only way to fix this though is to ground out the whole crack and re glass( NOT BODYFILLER) prime and re paint. If i were you i would just slap a rub rail back on.

Thank you!  What if I just repaint the boat and slap a rail back on would that be ok?  I don't have money for good paint job just was going to spray it with a gun

if you dont fix the crack, it will just come back through new paint and gelcoat.

I know the crack will come through again, but im not going to gel coat it, just a cheap paint job to get rid of the black paint

on my 18 footer i had a rubrail that looked like hell.  so i removed it and i found this trim striping tape at west marine to cover it and it held up pretty good and looked decent.  if it were me id toss a paintjob on it and cover the crack once it appears with the tape and call it a day.  rubrail aint cheap.
