How much did you have to pay?

I got a quote from L&L Marine in Corona of $350.00

A cheaper , faster , way of keeping water out of your boat is learning how to use the throttle . Replacing a splash guard I can understand but adding one ...... do you have to drill holes ? Keep in mind , when water does hit it , is it goin to set in the seam and then creep into your boat anyways . I've even seen people go so far as to put a bead of silicon around it . We all know how good some people are with silicon on jet boats .  :banghead: Just keep in mind that in a jet boat there will always be water in it . The pump is designed to have a drip of water coming in to lubricate it . YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE WATER IN YOUR BOAT . There is no way around it . Besides , if I'm not mistaken , bilge pumps are cheaper that the guards as well . Think it through . Just hate to see some unessicary holes drilled which arent really solving any problems.

good info, but in my case, having the splash guard has saved me more than once from being completely swamped by some dumbass coming in to have a closer look, and the fact that the back of the boat is only about 4" above the water line when floating ;D

I'm thinking about a splash guard because for some reason I get a splash up from the jet that gets the wiring and distributor wet when running (no cracks about the problem being the distributor in the back, please), then it starts to misfire and crap out.  I have to dry stuff off before it will stop misfiring.  I think the splash is due to the Place Diverter but I haven't been able to get it corrected yet.

BJ I have to disagree with ya to a point. I put a splash guard on and am glad I did. NO silicone either. You are right about water bein in the boat, it definately will in a jet. What i like is the fact that when you have some yahoo cut in front of you you can be evasive and get off the throttle if you have to and not worry about lookin behind you for the wave swampin you ;D You can concentrate on whats in front of you. And as for you Crew you are at a disadvantage havin that dizzy in the back ;D ;D ;D  LOL thot I had to throw that in. Just my 02 guys     Mark
