I am going to remove this hole the previous owner put there for a bilge outlet. I guess he did not want to drill a hole in the hull but I think it will look cleaner on the splash shield.
I was going to make a new shield but I think it will be easier to cut a piece of alum. and weld it in there then grind/wet sand and polish.
Or should I just leave it there and not put another hole in the transom.

Sounds like you're looking for IMO's, so IMO get it off that splash guard and put it down where it belongs.

put it right there next to your steering cable....

??? Do you mean drill a hole in the transome adapter. Hmm that is an idea too.
-
take it off the splash shield, imo
-
less holes in the hull the better..keep it above the water line.
while you working on it.. find a jetski shop and get an anodized aluminum one..
the plastic will break sooner than later....imho...

Wow, maybe this should have been a POLL. So far 3 for Yay, 1 for Nay.

IMO, Move it ;D
I like the aluminum shield, I might have to consider that instead of the plastic.

I have a plastic guard on mine and I think it looks bitchin. A little bit nostalgic. Drilling a hole in my hull would scare the crap out of me. :-[
