Title: Sanger Question???
Post by: bildo on January 01, 2011, 08:06:30 PM
New here......I have an 84 Sanger Jet. Was Sanger still making Super Jets in 84 or did they call them Family Jets by that time?  My hull number starts with SANFJ...I would think that means Family Jet.  Did Super Jets Start with SANSJ ?...I'm sure there is a Sanger nut like myself on this board who knows.......thanks.

Yes I believe they did still call them a SuperJet in 84. And the prefix of your HIN is SANF... SA= Sanger F=Fresno J=Jet  as far as I know this is what it means my hull is a 78 with the same prefix.

They call my boat a family ski boat too. It even had a ski tow bolted to the blower when I got it. Dont know where that came from, I did get it from the original owner....a retired judge from santa ana.

I used to ski behind a blown v-drive picklefork frequently.  NOT pulling the handles out of my hands was always a problem.   One day in Palo Verde (so. of Blythe)  a guy flags us down and wants a tow.  My bud tells him no, not with this boat.  The guy keeps on beggin'.   Finally we hook him up and upon taking off, maybe a bit too fast, we pull the eyehook right out of his bow.  Oops!   Things went downhill fast after that.        Lots of beers did finally make it better.
