Iv searched the 3 pages with sleekcraft typed on em, got very side tracked, but didnt really get what I was looking for. Im wondering how the Sleekcraft hulls perform and last? Looking at a 73, doesnt say what model. Seems like a good enough deal. As I was searching I did notice most of the sleeks were for sale for almost nothing. Whats up with that? Its also a 1/4 stringer. Not looking for big HP, just a lake cruiser so it shouldnt be a problem. I can try and get pictures if the hull model determines the performance.

in my honest opinion sleek only made one performance hull and that is a tunnel bottom....the sleeks are well built boats, and are very stout, and would make a nice lake/river cruiser, i just started cutting on a sleek craft, and the deck was really thick, and laid up pretty well...honestly not my cup of tea, but they are built like tanks! it would be nice to see a picture of the hull...there are better boats out there to be desired such as southwind, hallet, eliminator, nordic are some of the better quality boats made out there, and can be found in a good price range
but post up what you are looking at and i am sure everyone will steer you in the right direction

Heres a picture of it. It looks like a good buy to me. Everythings there but the BBC. I just want a jet to play in the lakes while we build my dads Hondo up to go fast.

Im looking for something thats not a huge project. This one has newer paint, great looking interior, rebuilt Berkley jet, Hydro jet evader, new gauges, decent trailer, and a rhino lined engine compartment. All she needs is a motor with headers. Set up for a BBC. Looks like a good starter jet. Price is right, I just have no idea how they perform. Does anyone have any pictures of one in the water? Kinda want to see how high it sits.

Actually, Sleek made, or makes, 3 performance hulls that I know of. 2 are 20', one a 21', and a few "to order" hulls I've heard of.
The 3 hulls I speak of were all available as either tunnel hulls or V-Bottom. (Part of my research trying to figure out just what the hell the Pickle was for 3 months)
Good, solid boats, IMO. But I am biased. I have a Hallett here, and a Saguaro (Beisemeyer clone), and had another Beisemeyer and Sanger here, and an Eliminator for a short period. A few others I'll leave out to protect everybody. To be prefectly honest, without getting into hull hook or rocker, and picky snot you're gonna find in ANY hull, I see no quality difference when they are side by side.
I CAN say this though! IN the sunlight, I can look under the bow, gunnels, anywhere and not see light coming in on my Sleeks. I CAN, however, in every single one of those hulls that have been, or are, in my yard! Could be wear and tear, I get that, or lighter layups, but I've seen some scarey spots in them with what appears to be no fiberglass supporting the resin. The 18' Hallett is probably the heaviest thing I have ever seen, by tongue weight, my ol' 21' was nothing to lift compared to that thing! Could be no engine? :sly:
Looks like a decent boat. Put an eyeball on it and post more pics if you have time before you need to make a decision, but looks to me like a modified Rebel, Kauai, or possibly a Sportster model. I'm betting Rebel. (Coincidence, PURE coincidence!)
