First up to tahitimms, thank you for posting the old brochure of the executive. I never knew its name, it was called the 22 Offshore in some of the old ads and I assumed that's what it was.It was simply called the Toad at the shop and has nothing to do with the last 2 pictures of mine that you posted and in turn those had nothing to do with the Torino's with the exception of this one...
This was the first 19 Torino out of the mold and that's me behind the wheel back in '71 or so. I was 15 at the time. It has the same bottom as the other 2 you posted. That bottom was used on at least 7 or 8 different Tahiti's, there's a few real ugly ones for sale right now on CL's but they're too ugly to ride in. One has a really rare Mercuriser 400 jet drive in it.
The original Torino deck was of course a splash of the Sidewinder deck which was on a Tahiti bottom which originated at Glastron which was where the originator of Sidewinder worked as well as having been the brother in-law of Schuster who started Tahiti. Clear as mud huh?
