I have a 75 swift craft 18ft rebel jet boat. Two piece hull would like to remove the outer trim piece and fiberglass top to bottem to make it smooth before repainting. I have been told these style boats flex too much and require the two piece hull. If i fiberglass it will i have problems with cracking, if so what are the alternatives?

I think you are referring to capping. There are several threads you can find on how to do it. I did mine this year and so far it is holding together.

I think I would have glassed a bit farther out from the hole if I did it again though for added strength and security. Be sure to do the inside also.
This one covers it too, plus it may be my favorite restoration thread O0
