UMMMM....im thinking here..i have 2 dual voice coil kicker 12's in my cruiser now and they sound good ( alittle underpowered), but have 2 dvc 15" fosgates in my hatchback and its loud in there....15" subs need a lot of air space to project bass out of there...oh and its going to rattle like a big dog..that bottom part of your boat you are going to glass is going to flex alot i think...remember the bigger the speaker too the lower the bass note that will come out..lot of rock music dont have those tones...just sayin..and 15" are going to need a lot of power to sound clean...i would love to see pics of your todo....not sure if this helps, thats all i got, ANYBODY ELSE???

i wonder if i could make the capt chairs into individual speaker boxes to house the 15s. that would bring them out in the open and not rattle the hull very much at all. and probably travel a lot better rather than just shoot the bass to the back of the boat like my current setup.....

I have a good stereo guy that was telling me if it is a closed bow with a small entrance. Like on a 18-19ft. Jet boat you can actually build a box to spec which in return let you use the front of the hull as a port like in a large band pass box. Making a 10 sound like a 15. less power, selfcontained box, super sound. If that is your set up. If not I would run the self contained box but m ake sure that the air off the speaker has something to reflect off of if it is in a sealed box. only way your going to get a good sound. Had two 12's in a full convertable blazer that sounded like 6x9's when the top was off. Or you could always use a bandpass box and face it almost anyway you would like. A little bit bigger of a set up but will be self contained. use it self to produce noise and wont rattle the crap out of your boat. At least shouldn't anyways.

I hope you have room for a couple extra batteries.

What kind of music do you listen too?

If you listen to mostly rock music I would put 2 or 3 good dvc 10" subs in a custom built box. Get some shallow mount subs (Pioneer premiers are nice) and build your own box. Would be very compact and sound equally as good with the rite amp.

I wouldn't use the hull as a box in anyway. I would build a totally sealed box for the subs.

Thats just my opinion though and I'm no expert.

we listend to like a kiss fm type mix while at the river. good old rock and all the newer top 100 shit. just looking for some booom in the trunk i guess. and like i said i already have all the stuff to do this system. i think i am going to build to single boxes and put one on each side of the motor under my new rear deck lid once the interio is done. i can mount the amps under the rear bench and that will be about it. probably run 4 6x9 and 2 6&1/2s that should clear up the highs. even if it dont sound perfect i bet it will be loud and will do more good than those speakers sitting in my garage.

AQUAHOLIC, I had 2 10"s glassed in under my bow and there were no problems except the fact that every trip out I ended up picking up at least one gauge bracket off the floor (it rattled them loose).  Good luck with your project.   

If you dont already have one, keep in mind that you will want to get another amp to run your 6x9's and 6.5's.  Otherwise it will be all bass and no audio.  I would definatly run cap's for all 3 amps too. 

yeah you should be good with a 3 farad cap.  two 15's in a closed bow is going to be ridiculously loud.   

ya i think i am going to build two single boxes on for each side of the motor. that should work. then i will put the amps up front under the bow so that they wont get wet.
