What shape is the gel in? Is there any oxidation/cloudiness? Any scratches? There might be some steps to do to get a nice shine before just waxing.

I bought some of that stuff at the LA Boat Show this year and it worked really well, better than anything else I've tried.

Do you use the marine or automotive? The red gel on my boat just seems to dry out quick and I've tried all sorts of stuff. Might need to give this stuff a go if it works.
