Title: What model of Tahiti is this?
Post by: hydraslide22 on July 13, 2009, 07:45:54 AM
Just pick this boat up from Missouri its a 1977 Tahiti 18'.  Im tring to find the exact model name?

Just some info on the boat, its has a fresh 460 BB, big cam, 750 carb and a Jucizzi Pump? The boat will need a paint job and new interior but the hull and floor is very solid.

Reguarding the interior, do you all know how these boats back seats were layed out? was it a complete full bench seat accross the back or did they have the split port and Stbd seat facing inboard? I have seen them both ways, but did not know how the factory send them out?

This is my first Jet boat, but im a long time boater and lots of experience w/ outboard go fast boats..

I would appreciate any words of wisdom or FYI's about Tahiti's.

Thanks Lee

Tahiti Tiger.  I have a '76.  =D

Mine runs around 65 currently.  Adding a diverter and ditching wood frame seats for fiberglass.  Hope to see a bit more speed.

its a tahiti super tiger.  the cockpit is a little more narrow.  and also the transom has a 1' sloped rear section rather than just a 6" section with a lip.  also the sides where the gas tank fills are have a little more accent on them.  originally were equipped with a pair of buckets and a bench.

super tiger:

Just noticed the original post is from 3 years ago.
