Which is better?
« on: May 06, 2022, 07:40:05 PM »
👋🏻 hello, long time lurker, first post.
I'm looking to get back into a jet boat, I've had one in the past, and currently have an outboard that will be sold in the morning. So the 2 boats I've narrowed it down to, are a Hallett or a rayson craft. Both with berkley jets. Both same size, both similar in design, and similar years as well. So my question, for the vast knowledge base here is, witch brand would you choose? And why? Both are big block boats, and full stringer as well. Both are 18 or 19 foot as well....
Any help or insight is greatly appreciated 🙏🏻

Rayson Craft.
Why?
Go racing.

Both are solid hulls.
Current engines would would make a difference.

Congrats. Did you have a chance to drop it in the water and drive it? Does it need anything? Any plans to change anything or run it as it is?

Didn't get a chance to drive it. Unfortunately...
I'm hoping to get it out next weekend, and make a list of what it needs. So far, I see some extra holes in the stringers that need fixed, wiring is functional but ugly, and the wife requested that I carpet the inside. Seat bases are pretty bad, but the vinyl should be good for another summer or 2. Going to buff it, get some new reg. stickers made as well, oh and the trailer is pretty junky too..
Another project 😆
I swear one day I'm going to buy something that is ready to go......

Looks great man.  I have a Hallett.  Friend has a Rayson.  Both solid.  I like the look of my Hallett better, but your Rayson looks better than his.  Must be different designs?

Bought mine last summer to fix minor things and sell, but in the meantime ended up moving to a lake.  Gauges, fuel tanks, new wiring, new plumbing, and top half of the engine later I'm ready to have some fun with it.
