Title: whos the builder?
Post by: rhay916 on February 21, 2012, 10:48:01 PM
I have a 19ft full stringer jet boat that I dont what the make is.
Its registered as 1978 power, the guy i bought it from said it was built by power customs.
The specs that I know is that its 19ft, full stringers, and that the stringers are 28 1/2 inchs apart.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. Any other photos needed to ID - let me know

Coast Guard MIC data base =  http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic1.aspx (http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic1.aspx)

Power Custom Boats shows up with a MIC of "SJB".   But shows that they where only in business from 2003 to 2011.  There is a list of previous companies that held that MIC.    http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic_detail.aspx?id=SJB (http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic_detail.aspx?id=SJB)

According to USCG it was made by Power Custom Boats in Lake Havasu. The last digits verify it is indeed a 78 model year.

Read the fine print Ray.   ::)

I'm going to say its was actually built by Streaker Boat CO in Sacramento CA.   But I'm not the best at decoding those USCG dates.

LOL! Yes, and HEY! That could explain Sleek only making their Streaker 1 year about that time too!  ;)
