Vinyl upholstery
« on: August 04, 2007, 03:36:51 AM »
Count me as a newbie jet boats, or wanna be. I'm still shopping. But I do have a question about vinyl upholstery. Most all the boats I've looked at, the upholstery is very dry and ready for an upholstery job, but I would rather do that in the winter. Does anyone know of something I can apply that might bring back a little life to the old vinyl to get me through, what's left of summer? or is there no hope? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

As my handle indicates, I joined this forum as a "wanabe"; before the first month was out I had a boat, thanks to help from folks on this site (it's a project but now running).

A 50/50 blend of simple green and some fine steel wool used with light elbow grease will do absolute wonders.  ;)

You'll find that even if you have good upholstery, you'll be using towels to keep from frying your skin or soaking up water.

The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
